Karmic Snow Day

SNOW DAY!!!!
I got a call a few hours before my shift today...they said they were shutting the lines down and I didn't have to come in today... WOOHOO!!! :D

In celebration of this rare and precious snow day, I would like to share with you all a drink recipe of mine made for days exactly like this one... it's very simple and VERY yummy.

How to make a Snow Day
1) Pour your favorite soymilk (or other type of milk) into a mug and nuke it until it's hot (NOT boiling... drinkable hot)
2) Add Kahlua to taste.
3) Mix well and enjoy :D

SO good... good enough in fact that after preparing the first round of these and running out of kahlua, I went out in the storm (omfg I LOVE driving in snow) and went to the liquor store and it was FREAKING CLOSED X_X Made some phone calls and so were all the other liquor stores in the area... damnit! x_x ohwell.... at least I still have some vegan Bailey's mixed up in the fridge ^_^

In other news...
Went to Ikea (yay!) got a new kitchen table (my butcher block style mini-table is staying right where it is...the new one goes along the back wall and it's perfect for what i needed) I also got a step stool and SHELVING!!! sweet awesome perfect shelving! Stainless steel kitchen organization FTW! :D Putting it up later tonight (with the new screws and screwdrivers we went out in the storm again to get)... oh and on that same trip we also rented I Heart Huckabees (which I haven't seen yet) and I bought used copies of Memoirs of a Geisha and Piratesof the Carribean 2. SCORE!

Lastly and definitely not least...
Karma has firmly taken ahold of things very recently and is really delivering in SO many ways... I'm really loving it... it just goes to show if you just hang in there and don't give up hope, good things really DO happen to good people... and bad things... well the rest is self-evident ^.^

XD
It was way too freaking much fun, and i learned alot about my own body language and those who know me well enough to tell who I am by it XD but it was even more fun baffling the people who just HAD to know who was in the costume (but didn't until I be-headed after the judging (our department won one of the first prizes w00t!)) I even went over to the other building and visited Tseno in suit ^_^ and people got a kick out of me drinking a water bottle through my costume-mouth XD and lots of pictures were taken... it was just a blast ^_^ though I was near exhaustion when I changed into normal-clothes afterwards (and stuck my head under the faucet in the public bathroom...mmm lol) and dunno how I survived through the end of my shift...though the vegan pizza that was ordered was a welcomed help :3
Oh speaking of vegan...
One of my coworkers went vegetarian today because of me!! *excited* :D I made up a quick business card for him stating "JessK's 24/7 nutrition hotline" with my cell number XD ohh and...showed another one of my supervisors how to use her camera phone and send pictures.... which she then used to take embarrasing pictures of another supervisor and email them to everybody >:3 mwuahahaha...
oh and I forgot to mention before, I voted yesterday.
My kitties are the best :D They (both) had a vet appointment tonight, and I figured it'd be the best thing for them to travel in the same crate... and it was.. neither of them made a peep the entire way ^.^ Not only that but Ha-chan was incredibly well behaved while being examined and given shots and stuff (and of course Ichi was too, at least until he started exploring the office and jumped into the sink) Anyway, they're now both up to date on their vaccinations, and they seemed to enjoy the car ride back so much that when I parked the car at home and turned the engine off, I still heard purring...only it was coming from Ichi... I'm glad I let them ride together ^_^

Oh yeah, if I didnt mention it..
I PASSED MY ALL CALLS EXAM on Friday ^_^ woo...training is over!
Hectic times, few posts...so here's another one in the spare time that I can find ^.^
My new place now houses a kitchen table, dining room table, (got a microwave!), living room chair and couch and end table with two awesome lamps, TV with stand and two DVD racks full of awesome, a fence thing to keep Hachan (new baby kitty) in the kittenproofed half of the place... desk (well, half of it) bookshelves, dressers and nightstands... I hooked up my stereo system in the living room and it is good. About to start working on decorations and further cleanings and such...i need to find the hooks for my wallscrolls x.x they're somewhere in the still-not-unpacked pile :3

now for Ichikun and Hachan rantings of cuteness... :D

Ichi is such a wonderful big brother to hachan... he'll ignore me sometimes when I call to him but the minute Hachan makes a tiny little kitten squeak (s/he sounds like a squeaky door) Ichi is at his/her(dunno yet) side in a heartbeat... The first night they met, Ichi acted very annoyed when Hachan wouldnt stop following him and snugging on him and pawing at him, yet he could have easily jumped up out of the kitten's reach or ran away and he didn't..... then Ichi lost track of Hachan for a moment and Hachan went under the couch, Ichi realized hachan wasnt there and started making these soft mewling calls constantly and looking for him... and when Hachan reappeared ichi darted at him like lightning and stopped a half inch short of hachan's face and wouldnt leave his side again... and no longer acts annoyed at his attentions... even when Hachan won't stop pouncing/rolling around with/nibbling on his tail :D Ichi just makes this face like "egh" but entirely lets hatchan do it... they're just so adorable ^_^ And its so cute watching them eat together... Hachan is still really small and you hafta like stick his face into the food so he realizes it's there and starts eating ^.^ (The first night I brought him home I had to use a bottle with kitten formula to get him to eat...so cute |||)

When I first rescued Hatchan, for the whole first day (up until I calmed him down enough to bottle feed) he was a hissing raging little ball of claws and teeth XD but the very next morning he woke me up climbing up on me purring and nuzzling at my face ||||||||||
S/he's been doing really well socially since, s/he absolutely loves playing with Ichi and isn't opposed to climbing into bed with me at night to cuddle ^_^ His/her eyes were pure blue when I first rescued him/her, but they're now shifting to a jade/turquoise kind of color...they're quite beautiful ^.^

And Ichi is shaping up to be a truly wonderful kitty...he's very healthy and he's BIG, he's gonna be huge when he's fully grown ^_^ He's extremely intelligent and sharp, curious, brave and explorative...and very expressive. He loves strangers and is just an all-around sweetheart ^.^ And he has these beautiful gold eyes :D

.. oops. hahaha i totally forgot to hit post.

I am planning to keep going back to try for the others... dunno if I can keep him or any of them, but for now I'm taking care of this one ^.^ I got him to eat and he's young enough that although he was feral he's taking very quickly to human attention ^.^ He was vicious when I found him though, I only caught him cus he came running out hissing from their den trying to chase me away XD
He's in my room with the door closed, in the closet, which is also closed... but Ichigo is no dummy, he knows something's up and keeps trying to get in there and see... he gets really jealous when I go in and shut the door :P
I'm in sort of a fix though, I can't find a vet that operates outside of my own work hours (9-5 >.<) and I really wanna get him checked out >.< he seems quite healthy, i just want to get his tests done so I dont have to worry about Ichi catching a sickness from him x.x
Anyway... yeah, back to life.
